Autumn’s Invitation
Autumn has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice the beauty in the transition of seasons. It’s golden light, the cool air, the soft hum of change, it all speaks to the artist in us. It invites us to explore, capture it’s warm, earthy, rustic palette.
For photographers, it the perfect season of color and contrast. Painters, like me find endless inspiration in the textures and tones that only fall can bring. As a writer, autumn stirs reflection, cozy stories waiting to be told in the quiet between falling leaves.
It’s Not Over Yet!
We still have a lot of hot summer days in the forecast left. So, grab some of your art supplies and head outdoors. Right out to your decks, backyards, or front steps. Out in the fresh open air without having turn the key in the car.
I love using these mini sketchbooks to collage, sketch and paint. I usually make a day of it. I’ve challenged myself to finish one these mini sketch books over time. I’m almost there.
This is also a great simple activity for the kids too. They’re not overwhelmed by a big sheet of blank paper. Nothing to pin up on the fridge.
